Accused in 27 cases killed in Jashore gunfight

Staff Correspondent, Jashore: An accused in 27 cases has been killed in a gunfight with police in Kayemkhola field under Jhikargacha upazila of the district.
The deceased was identified as Tokon, 30, son of Aslam Mastar, hailed from Krishnapur area of the upazila.
Jhikargacha police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azizur Rahman police detained the accused from in-front of Katwali police station. Later, following his information, police went to the spot to recover fire arms early Saturday. Meanwhile, sensing presence of police, Tokon's cohorts opened fire aiming police. In reply, police also opened fire which triggered the gunfight, leaving Tokon bullet-injured.
Later, he was taken to Jashore Sadar Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead.
A one-shooter gun, a round of bullet of pistol, five bombs were recovered from the spot.
