Businessman stabbed dead in Gopalganj

Gopalganj Correspondent: A businessman has been stabbed dead by unknown miscreants over land dispute in the district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Sharif Asaduzzaman alias Tito Sharif, 45, son of Ayez Ali Sharif and owner of M/S. Sharif & Sons (PVT) LTD.

A group of seven to eight miscreants obstructed the way of Tito Sharif while he was returning to town from his gher (fish farm) on his motorcycle around 12:00pm and stabbed him dead in broad daylight at Char Singati area, said Md Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station.

It is suspected that the killing might have taken place following a dispute over land, the OC added.
