Trader stabbed dead in Jashore

Staff Correspondent, Jashore: A trader was stabbed to death near Golpata mosque at Shankarpur of the district town on Sunday evening.

The deceased was known as Moshiar Rahamn, 45, son of Tokobbor Sheikh of the area.

The body was kept at Jashore Genarl Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Deceased’s nephew Ripon Sheikh said, “Miscreants were searching for Shovon, nephew of Moshiar, over previous enmity. They vandalized grocer shop of his another nephew Iqbal Sheikh as they did not find Shuvon. They chased Moshiar while he opposed them during during vandalizing the shop. He took shelter nearby Abdul Hamid’s house after the chase. But the miscreants swooped on the house and stabbed him there. Doctors declared him when he was taken to hospital.”

Abdur Rashid, physician of Jessore General Hospital, said Moshiar died as he was stabbed indiscriminately.

Apurba Hassan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jessore Kotwali Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said, “We are investigating into the incident to identify the miscreants.”
