3 cops suspended over escape of accused

Chuadanga Correspondent: Three policemen were suspended over the escape of an accused from the office of Detective Branch (DB) of police in Chuadanga.

Police constable Masud, Mohidul and Mahmud were suspended on charges of negligence of duty, said Chuadanga Police Super Mahbubur Rahman.

A four-member probe committee has been formed. Additional police super Kalimullah will lead the committee.

Sources said that a team of district DB police arrested the accused Jahid Hossain, 30 from Andulbaria area of Jibon Nagar with a fire arms on Saturday night. He was kept a DB office on Sunday for interrogation. But, he managed to flee from the police custody at night.

Police drive is underway to catch the accused again.
