Tk 30 lakh realised by nudity trap

Staff Correspondent, Khulna: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a couple who were allegedly involved in collecting Tk 30 lakh threatening to spread nude pictures and video footage on Facebook in Khulna.

Special Company Commander Additional Superintendent of Police Enayet Hossain Manna came up with the disclosure at a press briefing at Labonchar office of RAB-6 on Tuesday.

The arrestees are: Kazi Abdul Munim, 37, son of late Kazi Abdur Rouf of Karimnagar of the city, and his wife Tanjila Hassan Jhuma, 24.

Law enforcers seized documents of 40 pages which was sent on internet, 13 mobile SIMs which were used in cheating, a memory card and a mobile phone set from their possessions.

The couple collected ransom of Tk 30 lakh from a businessman family, threating to spread nude pictures and video footage on internet.

Finally, the businessman filed a complaint to RAB as the couple demanded Tk 50,00 more again. RAB later found the couple involved in the cheating, according to the RAB official.
