Youth held with 40 gold bars in Jashore

Staff Correspondent, Jashore: Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) held a youth with 40 gold bars from Barpota Bazar area of the district’s Sharsha upazila on Friday morning.

The gold bars weighing 5.1kg is estimated around Tk 2.5 crore.

The detainee was identified as Sajib Hossain, 26, son of Rezaul Islam of Satmail Mathpara village of the upazila.

According to BGB, acting on a tip off, a team of BGB conducted drive and held Sajib with the gold from Barpota Bazar area. Law enforcers also seized his motorcycle.

Ariful Haque, director of 49 BGB Battalion, confirmed the news.
