Drug peddler killed in Kushtia gunfight

Kushtia Correspondent: A suspected drug peddler has been killed in a gunfight with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in Daulatpur border area in the district.

The deceased was identified as Haydul Farazi, 26, son of Habi Farazi, hailed from Jamalpur village.

BGB-47 Battalion commander lieutenant colonel Rashed Khan said that a group of drug trader entered into Bangladesh territory crossing pillar number 152 in the area around 3:00am. Meanwhile, the drug traders opened fire aiming a patrol team of BGB. In reply, BGB also opened fire, leaving the drug trader killed.

A local made gun, five rounds of bullets, eight packets cannabis and some bottle of phensedyl from the spot.

Daulatpur police station OC Shah Dara Khan said the body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
