Two drug traders killed in Mymensingh gunfight

Staff Correspondent: Two suspected drug dealers were killed in gunfights with the members of Detective Branch (DB) of police in Muktagacha and Sadar upzilas of Mymensingh.

The deceased were identified Abdullahel Kafi, 31, son of Mustafizur Rahman and Alamgir, 27, son of Ibrahim Mia.

Shah Md Kamal Akand, officer-in-charge of District Detective Branch of Police said that the gunfight took place in Kathalia Jhalai Bridge of Muktagacha and Saheb Kachari area of Charnilia union under Sadar upazila around 2:00am on Saturday. Abdullahel Kafi was top terror in Muktagaccha. He was sentenced to seven years in prison.

On the other hand, Alamgir was drug trader. He was an enlisted criminal. Fire arms and drugs were recovered from the spot.

Following the incident, five policemen received injury. They are- Sub-Inspector Nazim Uddin, Assistant Sub-Inspector Md Mazid, constable Ibrahim, Saidul Islam and Arman Uddin.
