Police found Bangladeshi dead on border

Thakurgaon Correspondent: Police on Tuesday recovered body of a Bangladesh national on the brink of Nagor river at Dabri area in Haripur upazila on Bangladesh-India border.

The deceased was identified as Nijarul Islam, 35, son of Ali Hossain of Kismat Mednisagor village of the upazila.

Mohammad Amiruzzaman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Haripur Police Station, confirmed the news.

Injury marks were found on the body, he added.

Lt. Col. Tuhim Md Masud, captain of Thakurgaon-50 BGB, said, “It is not primarily confirmed whether Nijarul was killed by Border Security Force (BSF). BGB is investigating the matter.”
