BCL leader jailed for eve teasing

Staff Correspondent: A mobile court in Khulna has sentenced a local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) to jail for a year for teasing a female SSC student at Chuknagar in Dumuria upazila.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive magistrate Shahnaz Begum handed down the order after setting up the mobile court in front of Chuknagar Dibyapalli Secondary School on Saturday noon.

The BCL leader who sentenced was known as Ahmed Rony, 26. He is organising secretary of Chuknagar Degree College BCL wing and son of Fazlur Rahman Mollah of Mothbaria village of Kathaltola.

Aminul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dumuria Police Station, confirmed the news.
