Four killed as bus rams auto-rickshaw

Noakhali Correspondent: Four people including a woman and her daughter have been killed and two others seriously injured as a bus rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali.

The incident took place at the upazila’s Eklashpur on Maizdi-Choumuhuny road around 3:00pm on Saturday.

According to witnesses, a Noakhali-bound passenger bus of Sugandha Drutojan Service hit the CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving it turtled and killed three people including a woman and her daughter on the spot. Another succumbed while undergoing treatment at Noakhali General Hospital. The bodies were kept at the hospital morgue.

The deceased were identified as Khodeza of Mojahidpur in Begumganj, her daughter Poly, honors student of Noakhali College Shakib and Ibrahim Raju of Sonaimuri upazila.

The injured were known as Roni, son of the deceased Khodeja, and auto-rickshaw driver Masud Alam of Noakhali sadar.

Syed Mohiuddin Azim, resident doctor of the hospital, confirmed the news.
