3 killed as bus falls into ditch in Rajshahi

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: Three people were killed and 20 others were injured as a bus fell into a roadside ditch in district’s Bagha upazila on Thursday morning.

The accident took place at 6.00am in Bhanukar area of Mirganj.

The deceased were identified as Abu Hanif, 23, the bus driver’s assistant and son of Samser Ali at Chhatari village under Bagha upazila, Manwara Begum, 45, wife of Mansur Ali at Monigram Bandarbattala village, and Badla Begum, 42, wife of Niat Ali at Harirampur Datpara village.

According to sources, a Rajshahi-bound passenger bus of Rajanigandha collided head-on with a trolley before it hit a tree and fell into a ditch, leaving three dead on the spot.

The injured were taken to a local hospital.
