Two Rohingyas killed in ‘gunfight’ with BGB

Two suspected Rohingya yaba traders were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) at Jaliapara point of the Naf River under Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar early Friday.
The deceased were identified as Dil Mohammad, 18, son of late Mostak Ahmed in Bura Sikdarpara area of Nakkura thana under Maungdaw district in Myanmar, and Dusta Mohammad, 18, son of Dil Ahmed.
BGB-2 Commander Lt. Col Faisal Hasan Khan confirmed the matter on Friday morning.
He said on information, a team of BGB men conducted a drive in the area. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the drug traders opened fire on them, forcing them to fire back, triggering the gunfight that left the duo dead on the spot.
BGB men also recovered 70,000 Yaba tablets and some weapons from the spot.
Three BGB men were also injured in the gunfight, he also claimed.
