Man held with firearms in Madaripur

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel detained a person with drugs and firearms from Kalkini upazila of Madaripur early Monday.

The detainee is known as – Masum Sardar, 40, son of Wazed Sardar, hailed from Sidikhan area of the upazila.

Police sources said that acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-8 conducted a drive in the area and detained him. Later, following his information, a pistol, a magazine, an one-shooter gun, six rounds bullets, two lethal weapons and 180 pieces of Yaba pills were recovered.

Kalkini police station officer-in-charge (investigation) Harun-or-Rashid said, a case was filed in this connection.
