20 houses gutted by fire

About 20 houses have been gutted by fire in Kewa Westkhand area of Sreepur upazila in Gazipur.   

The fire originated at 10.45 am on Saturday.

Local people and Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipu Fire Service Mamunur Rashid said “Around 11.00 am, a fire broke out at a tin-shed house of Sreepur Municipal Councilor Jilal Uddin Dulal and rapidly spread to near houses. Locals and firemen of two units of Sreepur Fire Station controlled fire with an effort of about two hours.

The fire may be originated from a water heater.
