Woman sent to jail for false rape accusation

A woman was sent to jail for making false rape allegations against her husband.

Gazipur District and Session Judge Dr A K M Abul Kashem passed the order on Monday.

Manzur Morshed Prince, general secretary of Gazipur Bar said, Rahima Begum filed a case against her husband Ibrahim Khalil on charge of raping her stepdaughter on October 6. Police arrested Ibrahim on November 14 in this connection.

Later, the woman appeared before the court and said that she filed a fake rape case. Meanwhile, the court sent her to jail after hearing.
