Two students killed as private car turns aside

Two students were killed and two others were injured when the private car carrying them turned aside after hitting speed breaker at Tilagarh-Ambarkhana-airport road in Sylhet city on Friday night.

The deceased are: Noyon Das, 27, son of Iresh Das of the city’s Chamelibag. He is final year Masters student of MC College. Rubel, student of Sylhet government college.

According to police, the reckless private car turned aside after hitting speed breaker around 11:00pm, leaving four who were inside car injured.

Of them, Noyon was declared dead after he was rushed to hospital while Rubel succumbed while undergoing treatment in Dhaka.

However, students of the colleges blocked the road in protest of incident. They alleged that speed breaker was created high without following rules. So, the accident occurred.

Abdul Kaiyum, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shah Poran Police Station, confirmed the news.
