Shariat Boyati's bail plea rejected

A Tangail court has rejected the bail plea of Baul singer Shariat Boyati, 35, who was arrested for allegedly making comments that hurt the “religious sentiment” of Muslims.
Mohammad Showkat Ali Chowdhury District & Sessions Judge, Tangail, passed the order on Wednesday afternoon.
Lawyer Anisur Rahman Humayun moved for the petitioner while PC S Akbar Khan stood for the state during hearing in the court.
Earlier on January 14, the baul singer was sent to jail after three-day remand.
