Awami League leader slaughtered

A local Awami League leader has been slaughtered by unidentified miscreants in Companiganj upazila of Noakhali district.

The deceased was identified as Didar Hossain Sourab, 38, former president of a union ward (ward no-6) unit of the upazila. He was the son of late Abu Taher at Char Balua village.

According to police, 10/12 unidentified miscreants slaughtered Sourab on Saturday night. Later, police recovered the body around 2.00am.

Two men-Bahar Mia and Md Hossain- were injured in the attack.

The motive behind the murder could not be known yet.
