Two killed in Pabna road accident

At least two people were killed and three other were injured in a head-on collision between a covered-van and a mini-truck early Friday in Pabna.

The accident took place around 5.30am on Pabna-Dhaka highway in Madhupur area of Ataikula Thana.

The deceased were identified Abdul Hamid, 40, at Madhupur under Ataikula Thana, and Babu Hossain, 50, at Bhabani village.

Assistant Director of Pabna Fire Service Station Dulal Mia said several small traders were going to Hajirhat by a mini-truck.  A covered-van coming from the opposite site collided head-on with the truck, leaving Abdul Hamid dead on the spot.

The injured four people were taken to Pabna General Hospital where duty doctors declared Babu Hossain dead.
