Two killed in Jashore road accident

Two passengers of a three-wheeler were killed and three others injured as a speedy truck hit the three-wheeler in Jashore on Sunday.

The accident took place on Jashore-Jhenaidah road in Santola area of the district around 9:30 am.

The deceased were identified as Tania, 30, a worker at a non-governmental organisation (NGO) and Mizanur Rahman, 42, a passer-by.

A speedy truck bound for Jhenaidah hit a three-wheeler from behind, leaving the duo dead on the spot and three others injured, according to a source at the Jashore Kotwali police station.

The injured three are three-wheeler driver Nazrul, 50; school teacher Nazrul, 40 and NGO worker Monwara, 25.

The bodies were sent to Jashore 250-bed hospital morgue for autopsy, police said.
