The local administration has instructed 100 families to remain in home quarantine a day after five members of a family in Thakurgaon district were sent to a hospital.
Thakurgaon Sadar upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Abdullah Al Mamun came up with the information around 9:30pm on Sunday (March 29).
On Saturday last, five members of a family in Velajan Nadipara under Chilarong union in the upazila were admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital with fever and breathing difficulties.
The UNO said, "Blood samples of those five members have collected to see wether they are infected with coronavirus or not. Their blood samples are being sent to Dhaka."
Following this incident, 100 families of that locality have been instructed to remain in home quarantine, he added.
