Youth held over spreading Obaidul Quader corona infection rumour

Detective Branch (DB) of police held a youth for spreading coronavirus infection rumour over Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader.

The youth was identified as Ruhul Amin, 22, son of Nazrul Islam of Pashchim Rajoir village under Shoronkhola upazila of Bagerhat.

Khulna DB police held him conducted a drive at a house of Bagmara main road area on Tuesday night.

Police said Ruhul Amin created a video clip to spread rumour that AL general secretary Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has been infected with coronavirus.

He uploaded the video clip on his youtube channel ‘Taz TV’, police said.

A laptop, a modem, a router, a camera and a tripod was seized from his possession during the drive, according to police.

Sheikh Moniruzzaman Mithun, ADC (media) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), said the created by Ruhul Amin is totally confusing and provocative. A case was filed against him for spreading rumour over coronavirus with Khulna Sadar Police Station.
