Gopalganj coronavirus cases exceed 600-mark

The number of coronavirus or Covid-19 patients has crossed 600-mark in Gopalganj district.

23 new coronavirus patients including physician were detected in last 24 hours, raising the total number of Covid-19 patients in the district to 609.

Dr Niaz Mohammad, civil surgeon of the district, confirmed the matter on Saturday (June 27) night.

Of those newly infected, 15 were from Sadar upazila, two from Muksudpur upazila and six from Kotalipara upazila, the civil surgeon said.

Of those infected originally, 156 were from Sadar upazila, 147 from Muksudpur upazila and 90 from Kotalipara upazila, 128 from Kashiani upazila and 88 from Tungipara upazila, he said.

Of those infected, ten patients have died and 312 have been discharged from hospitals while 287 have been undergoing treatment at the isolation wards of different hospitals in the district, the civil surgeon added.
