Flights on the Dhaka-Rajshahi-Dhaka route resumed on Tuesday, after nearly four month of suspension due to coronavirus outbreak.
The country's two private carriers -- US-Bangla Airlines and Novoair -- resumed their flight operations on the route on the very first day.
A NovoAir flight carrying 12 passengers from Dhaka arrived at Shah Makhdum Airport in Rajshahi at 11:15am. Later at around 12:00pm, the plane flew for Dhaka with 12 passengers.
Around 3:30pm, a US-Bangla flight with 46 passengers reached Rajshahi. It flew for Dhaka again with 19 passengers.
Shah Makhdum Airport Station Manager Setafur Rahman confirmed the news.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ Rajshahi Airport Manager Helal Uddin said, ‘Biman has yet not resumed its flight on the route. Biman suspended the flight operation on March 14 due to coronavirus. It is unlikely to be resumed Biman’s flight before next September.’
