Cop killed in Kushtia road crash

A police officer was killed after truck hit his motorcycle on the Kushtia-Bheramara highway in Bahalbaria centre area in Kushtia on Wednesday (July 22) noon.

The deceased was known as Rasheduzzaman Tanmay, 35, son of Moniruzzaman, hailed from Rifayetpur village of Daulatpur upazila. He was a constable of Railway Police’s Kushtia circle.

Mirpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam confirmed the matter.

OC said, a Kushtia-bound truck hit Rasheduzzaman in the area while he was heading towards Kushtia. He died on the spot.

The police recovered the body and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
