Ex-SP Babul Akter ‘interrogated’

Babul Akter, former superintendent of police (SP) in Chattogram, has been interrogated in the murder case of his wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.
Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) quizzed him in the case day-long on Tuesday (May 11). Babul Akter is the plaintiff of the case.
PBI Chief, also Deputy Inspector General Banaj Kumar Majumder, confirmed the matter.
He said, “Babul Akter was called as plaintiff of the case. He is talking to those involved in the investigation of the case. However, anything can be said about the matter related to interrogation or investigation.”
Mitu was shot dead at GEC intersection in the port city on June 5, 2016 when she was taking her son to his school.
After the murder, Babul Akter resigned from his job. Currently, he working in a non-government office in Dhaka.
