Baby born with 8 limbs undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical

The baby born with four arms and four legs in Birganj of Dinajpur has been admitted to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital for advance treatment.
Wife of Golam Rabbani of Rampur village under Kaharol upazila of Dinajpur gave birth to the baby normally at Birganj Clinic early Friday (June 04).
Golam Rabbani told risingbd on Saturday (June 05) evening that his wife gave birth to the baby boy early Friday. The baby is a little different than others. He was admitted to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital for advance treatment at the evening on Friday. Physicians advised for several tests. The reports will be received on Sunday (June 06). The baby was doing well till the report was filed. He is breastfeeding.
Birganj Upazila Health Officer Mohsin Ali also confirmed the matter to risingbd.
He further said, “Only expert physicians could tell whether the baby will survive.”
Birganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Abdul Quader told risingbd that he heard the matter. He would help their best if parents of the baby sought assistance to them. He also wished best of luck to the baby.
Dinajpur Civil Surgeon Mohammad Abdul Quddus told risisngbd that the baby was born with additional two arms and legs. Expert physicians will test condition of the baby. The baby could get a normal life if it is possible to remove the additional limbs through undergoing surgery.
