6 die of Diarrhoea in Bandarban

At least six people have died from diarrhoea in remote areas of Kurukpata union under Alikadam upazila of Bandarban.

The identities of the deceased could not be known instantly.

Bandarban Civil Surgeon Dr Angsui Pru said, people of some hilly areas in Thanchi border were affected. Six people lost their lives due to diarrhoea in the last four days. Two medical teams have reached there. Two more will be sent with medical supplies.

“The number of infected would increase. Medical Team comprising members of army, BGB and local administration will be sent,” he added.

Alikadam Kurukpata union chairman Kratang Mro said, the disease is spreading rapidly in Menrumpara, Sonabipara, Kacchap Jhiri, Alimba Monipara, Ruithanpara, Tangleingpara, Menleupara, Mangrumpara, Amenpara areas.
