Prof Ali Ashraf MP on life support

Professor Md Ali Ashraf, lawmaker of Cumilla-7, has been kept on life support in the capital’s Square Hospital.
His son Muntaqim Asharaf Titu confirmed the matter on Friday (July 23) afternoon.
He said, “My father (Ali Ashraf) was kept on life support as his health condition deteriorated on July 21 afternoon.”
Professor Md. Ali Ashraf was under supervision of specialist doctors at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Square Hospital in the capital with gallbladder stone-related infections all over his body. He was admitted to Square Hospital on July 9. When his condition deteriorated there, he was taken to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) from July 11.
Muntaqim Ashraf Titu said, “On Thursday (July 22), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina spoke to me on mobile phone. At that time, she asked about my father’s physical condition and treatment.”
Professor Md. Ali Ashraf was elected Member of Parliament from Cumilla-7 (Chandina) constituency five times. He was elected Deputy Speaker in 2000. Ali Ashraf has been the Central Finance and Planning Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and Cumilla North District Awami League President for a long time.
On Friday (July 23), Muntaqim Ashraf Titu prayed for his father’s recovery.
