Long tailback at Daulatdia ferry ghat

A long tailback has created at Daulatdia ferry ghat due to rescue operation for RoRo ferry Shah Amanat, which capsized at Paturia ghat in Manikganj on Wednesday morning.
During visit on Saturday morning, it was seen that a seven-kilometer-long tailback has created at Daulatdia ghat.
Meanwhile, the salvage operations for RoRo ferry Shah Amanat, which capsized at Paturia Ghat in Manikganj, began for the fourth day on Saturday morning.
The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) salvage vessel Hamza and Rustom are working to rescue the ferry.
Daulatdia Ghat Manager (Commerce) Md Shihad Uddin said, “We do not know when no 5 ghat of Paturia will go into operation. The salvage operations have created a traffic jam”.
BIWTA’s RoRo ferry Shah Amanat capsized near Paturia's fifth ferry terminal while preparing to dock on Wednesday morning. It was carrying 14 goods-laden trucks and four motorcycles at the time.
