Naniarchar Bridge to be opened to traffic Wednesday

The much-sought Naniarchar Bridge over the Chengi River in Rangamati district is now awaiting for inauguration.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the bridge through video conferencing around 10:00 am on Wednesday (January 11).

The residents of the two islands in Rangamati district have been using boats as their main mode of transportation in the Kaptai Lake. Finally, the government has constructed the splendid concrete bridge spending Tk227 crore.

The bridge will not only increase road connectivity but also play an important role in the education, medical and socio-economic development here. The construction work of the bridge started in November of 2017.
