Two arrested over cutting off penis during ‘Khatna’

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two accused over cutting off penis of an eight-year-old boy during Khatna (Circumcision) at Moheshkhali upazila in Cox’s Bazar.
Md Billal Uddin, assistant director of RAB-15, confirmed the matter on Tuesday (April 12) noon.
The arrestees were known as Joynal Abedin, 35, and Mizanur Rahman, 28. They both are sons of Mohammad Islam of Sipahipara of Moheshkhali.
RAB official Md Billal Uddin said, “The eight-year-old boy was admitted to Mrs Zahed Medico at Sipahipara for Khatna (Circumcision). Village doctor Joynal Abedin cut off his penis while making circumcision. Later, a case was filed in this regard mentioning two names.”
He said, “The arrestees were handed over to Moheshkhali Police Station for ensuring legal steps against them.”
