Mother, daughter killed in Kishoreganj lightning strike

A woman and her daughter were killed in a lightning strike while they were covering the paddy kept in the yard for drying in the sun in Tarail upazila of Kishoreganj.

The incident took place at Belonka village in Jawar union of the upazila early Tuesday (April 19).

The deceased were identified as Asma Aktar, 56, wife of Mujibur Rahman and her daughter Yeasmin Begum, 38.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tarail Police Station Joynal Abedin Sarker confirmed the news.

Asma Aktar and her daughter were killed on the spot in a lightning strike while they were covering the paddy kept in the yard for drying in the sun, the OC said.

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent them to Kishoreganj general hospital morgue after their recovery, he said.
