Green chilli price declines to Tk 50 per kg

Price of green chilli has declined by Tk 30 to Tk 50 per kg at Hili wholesale market in Dinajpur.
Meanwhile, import from India has been stopped due to increase of local production.
During visit to Hili wholesale market on Friday morning, it was seen the price of green chilli has declined by Tk 30 per kg and it was being sold at Tk 50 per kg. In retail markets, it was being sold from Tk 60 to Tk 70. Besides, the consumers, who turned their faces from wild buying of green chilli due to high price, are now buying green chilli.
A Lutfor Rahman said, “I bought a kg green chilli at Tk 240 some days ago, but today I have bought it at Tk 50”.
A trader named Azizur Rahman said local green chilli production has increased, and he bought it at Tk 40 per kg from Rajshahi region.
Importer Jamil Hossain said green chilli import has been stopped due to increase of local production.
Local traders imported green chilli from India to cool down the skyrocketing price of the widely-used spice.
