25 injured in Manikganj police-BNP clash

At least 25 activists and leaders of BNP were injured in a clash with police in Manikganj on Thursday morning.

Two newsmen and several police members were injured during the clash.

A tense situation was prevailing in Manikganj town from Thursday morning, marking the 44th founding anniversary of BNP. Members of Chhatra League and Awami League took position in different areas of the town. 

BNP brought out a procession from Seota area of the town marking its 44 founding anniversary.  The clash began when police obstructed them. A chase-counter chase took place.  At the time, police fired tear shells and rubber bullets in response to the brickbats hurled at them by the activists.
