Tanu killed over establishing supremacy, 9 arrested

Police said General Secretary of the Bagerhat unit of Swechchasebak Dal Nure Alam Tanu Bhuiyan was killed over establishing supremacy and drug dealing.

Nine suspects including mastermind Farid have been arrested along with a pistol, a magazine and one round of bullets in this connection, police also said.

Superintendent (SP) of Bagerhat police KM Ariful Haque disclosed the information at a press conference held at the Police Super’s office on Sunday (November 13) noon.

Earlier on Friday (November 11) night, miscreants shot Nure Alam Tanu Bhuiyan in Basabati Padmapukur intersection, leaving him critically injured. Later, he was immediately taken to Bagerhat General Hospital where doctors declared him dead. 

Following the death, Tanu’s wife Kanij Fatema filed a murder case with Bagerhat Model Thana accusing 17 named and 7-8 unnamed people.
