Banshkhali Coal Power Plant starts supplying to nat’l grid

The first unit of the Banshkhali Coal Power Plant started supplying electricity to the national grid.
On the trial basis, 100 MW electricity was supplied to the national grid from this center around 3:00 pm on Wednesday (May 24).
Banskhali SS Power Plant Deputy-Project Director (Electrical) Engineer Md. Faizur Rahman said for the first time, distribution of power to the national grid has started from this power plant on a trial basis. On the first day today, 100 MW power supply is being provided from 3 PM to 1 PM. This plant will take a maximum of 200 MW electricity during peak hours at night.
The authority of SS Power plant, also known as Banskhali S. Alam power project, said that the plant has 1, 320 MW power generation capacity from its three units.
The plant, owned by Bangladeshi Conglomerate S Alam Group and Chines SEPCO-III Electric Power Construction Corporation along with HTG Development Group, is located in Gundamara area of Banshkhali. It is a coal-based power plant.
