Coal for Rampal power plant arrives at Mongla Port

Bangladesh flag carrier ship MV Bashundhara has reached Mongla Port from Indonesia with 32,121 tons of coal for the Rampal Thermal Power Plant in Bagerhat.

The ship anchored at anchorage no 11 at Harbaria of Mongla Port around 5:00 pm on Sunday (June 25).

Khandaker Riazul Haque, assistant manager of local shipping agent ‘Toggy Shipping and Logistic Ltd, Khulna, said, “Unloading and transporting of the coal will be started tonight (Sunday night).”

He said, “The ship left Indonesia with coal on May 31 and reached Harbaria anchorage no 11 of Pashure channel of Mongla Port around 5:00 pm on Sunday (June 25). The unloading works will be started tonight. Later, the coal will be kept at the godown of Rampal Power Plant.”
