4th ship carrying coal for Payra power plant arrives at port

Amid the ongoing fuel crisis, Mother Vessel MV YM Summit, a coal-laden ship, has arrived at Payra port in Patuakhali.
The fourth ship leaving Indonesia’s Balik Papan port anchored near the inner channel of the port with 37,650 metric tons of coal on Sunday (July 9) afternoon.
Azizur Rahman, deputy director of the Traffic Division at Payra Port, confirmed the news.
Earlier, three other ships named Mother Vessel MV Pavo Brave, Mother Vessel MV Athena and Mother Vessel MV Jador arrived at Payra port in Patuakhali with more than 1.5 lakh metric tons of coal.
Noted that a unit of the country’s largest ultra-supercritical power plant was shut down due to a fuel crisis on May 25. After 10 days, on June 5 at noon, the production of the power plant was completely stopped.
