KMP gets new commissioner

Highway Police DIG Md Mozammel Haque was made Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) commissioner.
The Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a circular in this regard on Sunday (July 16).
The current commissioner of KMP Md Masudur Rahman Bhuyain has been transferred to the post of DIG of Highway Police.
Sources of KMP said, last year (2022) on October 16, Mozammel Haque took charge of highway police as additional inspector general of police. Before this, he served as the captain of RAB-4.
Mozammel Haque joined the police department as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on January 25, 1999. He served as ASP (Circle) in Panchagarh and Rajshahi and Additional Superintendent of Police in Natore, Rajshahi, Cumilla and Dhaka. Apart from this, he served as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Joypurhat, Bogura, Naogaon. Later, Mozammel Haque was promoted to the post of Additional DIG while serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police in Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and became the Commander of RAB-13 (Rangpur). He participated in the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Sudan for 13 months while in RAB.
