Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar train service by December this year

A new rail route from Chattogram’s Dohazari to Cox’s Bazar is expected to be inaugurated in December of this current year.

Mohammad Mofizur Rahman, project director of the Chattogram-Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar rail route, said construction work of the project at the iconic station building’s construction site in Cox’s Bazar is at final stage and 87% of the construction work of the project has been completed.

A 100-kilometre single line dual gauge railway on Dohazari-Cox’s Bazar route is being constructed with a progress of 87 percent, he said.

The rail route from Chattogram’s Dohazari to Cox’s Bazar is being constructed at the cost of Tk 18,000 crore.
