Russian citizen dies at Rooppur nuclear power plant

A Russian citizen in Rooppur nuclear power plant under construction project at Ishwardi in Pabna has died. She was known as Livina Yulia (32).
She breathed her last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the town on Wednesday (July 26) morning. The Russian national was working in the foreign contractor Energaton Company for the Rooppur project.
According to police and local sources, Yulia came to Alo General Hospital in the town on Tuesday with abdominal pain. The doctor on duty asked him to be admitted to the hospital. She recovered somewhat after receiving treatment.
On Wednesday morning Yulia went to the bathroom. As she did not return from the bathroom after a long time, a nurse of the hospital knocked on the door and informed the hospital authorities without getting any response.
Authorities broke down the toilet door and found Yulia lying on the floor. After the physical examination, the doctor declared her dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station Arbind Sarkar said the body of the Russian citizen was recovered and sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Arrangements are being made to send the body to the relatives through the embassy after the legal process.
