12 fishermen burnt in gas cylinder explosion on trawler

At least 12 fishermen received burn injury after a gas cylinder exploded on a fishing trawler in Baharchhara Nuniarchhara of Cox’s Bazar on Friday morning.

The incident took place around 10.00am at the trawler of Selim Bohoddar anchored in the Ghat No. 6.

Of them, ten received 70 percent burn injury, and they have been admitted to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).  The rest are receiving treatment at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Cox’s Bazar Police Station Rafikul Islam confirmed the news.

The injured are – Ayub, 31, Dil Mohammad, 30, Rafik, 25, Monir, 26, Shafikul, 26, Arman, 20, Rahim, 37, Rahimulla, 30, Shahid, 35, and Osman, 19. All are the residents of Kutubdia para and Samity para on ward no.1 of the Cox’s Bazar.
