The local administration has suspended tourist ship operations again on the Teknaf-Saint Martin’s route due to rough weather.
As a result, no ship left Teknaf for Saint Martin’s from Tuesday (October 3) afternoon.
About 300 tourists have remained stranded in Saint Martin’s coral island.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Adnan Chowdhury said, “No tourist ship from Teknaf was allowed to go to Saint Martin's Island to avoid accidents due to rough weather from Tuesday afternoon”.
The UNO also said, “Law enforcement forces have been asked to be vigilant so that tourists staying on the island are not harassed. Besides, tourists have been instructed not to go down on the beach. The ship operations will resume after the weather returns to normal”.
The ship movement on the Teknaf-Saint Martin route resumed on Monday (October 2) after the inclement weather wiped out.
