BGB prepared to perform duties during national polls: DG

Director General (DG) of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Major General A K M Nazmul Hasan has said that BGB has already made all kinds of preparations to carry out their duties during the national elections.

The BGB boss said this at the BGB 10th Battalion final firing competition-2023 and drug destruction ceremony in Cumilia on Thursday (October 19) noon.

“We have taken training and prepared equipment. We are fully prepared to perform responsibilities during the elections. We are doing our utmost to stop the arms and ammunition smuggling through the border area”, he said.

BGB Cumilla Sector Commander Colonel Md Shariful Islam Meraj, Sarail Region Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Shahidul Islam, Cumilla 10 BGB Commander Lt Col Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Cumilla Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Abdul Mannan, among others, spoke on the occasion.
