College student hacked to death in Bogura

A student was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants in Bejor area under Shahjahanpur upazila of Bogura on Saturday (October 21).

The deceased was known as Zunayed, 18, son of Jabbar, hailed from Purbapra village of the upazila. He was a first-year student of Polytechnical Institute.

Police and local sources said the victim along with his friend was heading towards Banani area from Shahjanpur riding an auto-ricksshaw. At one stage, the three-wheeler hit a motorcycle which triggered a clash between motorcyclists and the auto-rickshaw passengers. Meanwhile, miscreants attacked the passengers and the rickshaw driver, leaving them injured.

Later, the injured were taken to local hospital where duty doctors declared Zunayed dead.

Shahjahanpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter.
