Former caretaker govt advisor Imam Uddin Ahmad dies

Former caretaker government advisor Imam Uddin Ahmad Chowdhury has passed away at his residence in Sylhet.
He was 97.
He breathed his last around 3:00 am on Tuesday, said his son, Dr Niaz Ahmad Chowdhury.
He left behind one son, one daughter, grandchildren, and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
He will be buried following the second namaz-e-janaza at ShahJalal Dargah Mosque on October 27. The first namaz-e-janaza will be held in his village on the same day.
Imam Uddin Ahmad Chowdhury's career included serving as an advisor to the Shahabuddin Ahmed caretaker government, a role he assumed on January 7, 1991. He was in charge of the Ministry of Commerce.
