Farmer dies from electrocution in Jhenaidah

A farmer died from electrocution in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah on Wednesday (October 25) morning.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahim, 36, son of Rezaul Islam, a resident of Monohorpur village of the upazila.

According to locals, the man came in contact with a live electric wire while he was starting an electric motor pump in a field at around 11 am. He died on the spot.

Sensing the incident, other people in the field brought him home.

Kaliganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mahbubur Rahman confirmed it and said the incident is being investigated.
