The operational activities at Chittagong Port, the country’s main gateway, became normal on Wednesday noon after Cyclone Hamoon had crossed the coast.
The port authorities were forced to suspend all operations as an alert was issued due to the intense cyclonic storm Hamoon.
Following the all-clear, cargo loading and unloading at the jetty resumed at noon.
Chittagong Port Secretary Omor Faruk confirmed the news.
Due to the rough sea conditions, alert 3 was issued for Chittagong Port. But the alert was withdrawn on Wednesday noon. As a result, the loading and unloading of goods at the port resumed at noon after remaining suspended for around 24 hours due to inclement weather caused by Cyclone Hamoon, he said.
